Prosthesis on implant
Prosthesis on implant is the top of dentistry technique. Materials used are bio-materials, so that the body will not reject them. Tissues totally make titanium alloys their own part and handle them as if they were actual parts of the body.
Implantation operations have several types, and they provide solution to any occurring type of edentia. The essence of an implantation operation is that one or more screws are built in the bones of the patient, who waits until they become part of the jaw, and bone cells grow around them. After the “rest” period of approximately it takes about six months when the actual tooth or teeth can be set in.
The simplest type of implantation is when only one tooth is replaced. In this case a screw is inserted in the place of the root of the tooth, and after ossification the total tooth can be built up. The structure of the tooth can be gold alloy or any other metal, or zirconia being the top-notch (with the relevant price). When this is completed the corona of the tooth is glued or screwed on it.
If several teeth are to be replaced the method and materials used are exactly the same, the only change is that there is no need to insert as many implants in place of former teeth adjacent to each other as many teeth are intended to be replaced. After inserting two screws the structure will be a bridge, and this way all the teeth can be replaced after the least possible dental manipulation.
The total denture can be replaced using implants, moreover, this solution provides the best possible result. If the total upper or lower denture is to be replaced, 2 or 4 implants are inserted in the mouth of the patient, and following the recovery, ossification period, the structure is ready to be created. Implants are to be equipped with such small bonding units, to which the dentures can exactly be adjusted to. The total denture placed on the implants is in all aspects the same and it operates the same way as the original denture.
