The inspection of the mouth may be done before the first treatment, or even without any later treatment, only for the purpose of a survey of the conditions. It is hardly needed to spend breath on the diagnostics preceding the dental treatment: in order to know exactly what and how is needed and can be treated, an inspection covering all details needs to be carried out. The high-quality X-ray is the alpha and omega of preparing a treatment plan.

If X-ray is used for not the preparation of a later treatment, then it can be useful, for example, to find out how the permanent teeth of a child still having only milk-teeth will be positioned. Also the wisdom-teeth of adults can be inspected, but X-ray is also suitable to take a look at the results of the treatment.

However, our clinic is equipped also with smaller X-ray machines, which can make highly detailed pictures of certain areas or teeth.

The radiation of the panoramic X-ray is negligible and it is totally harmless to children and adults, however, in case of pregnant women, whose foetus is less then 3 months old, only the small X-ray apparatus is used.

The importance of prevention cannot be emphasized enough, especially in Hungary, where the number of illnesses of the teeth is rather high, and the consumption of tooth-paste per person is rather low. No better “medication” has been invested than prevention so far, as it is painless, and it saves money better than any other method. Oral hygiene at home require only a minimum amount of money and some attention, and their result is perfect – unless teeth become decayed due to genetic causes.
