Oral inspection
Oral inspection is the basis for all further dental treatments. During the oral inspection performed at our clinic the teeth, the jawbones, and areas close to the mouth are thoroughly inspected. The latter is important as it may happen that some problem is enlightened, which has symptoms felt or seen within the mouth, but the illness itself (for example cancer) is rooted somewhere else.
During the oral diagnostics all modern imaging technique is used at Lanchid dentistry to gain the possible most information on the condition of the mouth. With the help of the panoramic x-ray a large, all-round picture can be taken of the mouth, the teeth and the surroundings. The panoramic x-ray picture shows three dimensions in two dimensions, ensuring excellent overview for the doctor before planning the treatment.
The small x-ray provides a much more detailed picture than the panoramic x-ray. This instrument, due to its dimensions, can be put in the mouth an there it can be directed to the small are which is intended to be inspected. The panoramic and the small x-ray usually complement each other, although it may occur that (primarily in case of pregnant women) only the small x-ray is used, or if the panoramic x-ray provides an appropriate picture, then it is enough to be taken.
An essential part of oral diagnostics is self-experience when the doctor simply himself takes a look at the condition of the patient’s teeth or defective set of teeth. Although, modern imaging techniques are capable of a lot of options, the eyes and qualification, experience of the doctor cannot be substituted by any means.
